Canberra Annual Lunch

This annual lunch was held from 1200 (food from 1230) at the Hellenic Club in Phillip. Our guest of honour and speaker was Vice Admiral Michael Noonan, the immediate-past Chief of Navy who addressed the significant national security events that occurred during his time as CN.

The food and service were both very good, and attendees appeared to have enjoyed themselves. Guests included a few spouses of members, although overall the attendance was disappointing with only 35 people in total sitting down to lunch. This was possibly because the event clashed with the Melbourne Cup.

Financially we broke even on the event.

(Thoughts for next year; schedule and promulgate the event early, and try to ensure that the chosen date doesn’t clash with another event such as the Melbourne Cup.)
